Advertising is a form of communication that provides information, calling attention to, and making known something that you want to sell or promote. This includes the name of a product or service, how that product or service could benefit the consumer, to persuade a target market to purchase or to consume that particular brand. These messages are usually paid for by sponsors and viewed via various media.
Kinds of Advertising:
Print Ads – are found in newspapers and magazines.
Poster Ads – are placed in buses, subways, and trains. This advertising type emphasizes on the area of the transportation of the automobile.
Billboards – is a large outdoor advertising structure found primarily on major highways, expressways or principal arterials, they command high-density consumer exposure. Billboards present large advertisements to passing pedestrians and drivers.
Commercials – interrupt radio and television programming. These are 30 to 60 seconds in duration, comercials are costly to air the products or services they’re offering.
Direct Mail Advertising – Postcards, sales letters, catalogs and press kits.
Public Service Announcements – these are basic TV and radio spots of 15, 30 and 60 seconds that support nonprofit companies. There is no expense for the air time.
Internet Advertising – does not require big investment. It is a form of promotion that reaches global market for the expressed purpose of delivering marketing messages to attract customers. Google adwords is the most popular and biggest internet advertisers.
Aerial Banner Advertising – is a form of advertising that incorporates the use of either aircraft to transport and display forms of banners and mobile billboards, or the use of aerobatics combined with smoke projectors to write words in the sky.
Word of Mouth Advertising – is a reference to the passing of information from person to person. It is the most inexpensive kind of advertising.
